Avamere at Rio Rancho recently had the honor of welcoming Congresswoman Melanie Stansbury for a visit and tour of our senior living community. It was an insightful and engaging visit, providing us the opportunity to showcase the services we offer and discuss important issues affecting seniors in New Mexico.
Congresswoman Stansbury was welcomed by three Avamere at Rio Rancho team members: Executive Director Bryanne Mandel, Abor Administrator Rebecca Frost, Director of Health Services Jessica Riley, and Director of Sales and Outreach Lindsey Hinkle.
The group held a discussion with the Congresswoman and Chris Donnellan, Sr. Director of Government Relations with the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living. They discussed Medicaid benefits, a crucial resource for many of our residents, as well as recent presidential decisions that could affect seniors.
During the tour, Congresswoman Stansbury explained the congressional process to our residents and her role in advocating for policies that support seniors. Her insights provided reassurance that their concerns are acknowledged and addressed at the highest levels of government.
“We were honored to welcome Congresswoman Stansbury to Avamere at Rio Rancho,” Bryanne stated. “Her presence and meaningful discussions about senior care show her deep commitment to the well-being and dignity of older adults in our community.”
What stood out most during her visit was the genuine exchange between the Congresswoman and our residents. Their conversations were filled with wisdom, thoughtful questions, and a shared understanding of the importance of senior care.
We appreciate Congresswoman Stansbury’s visit and her willingness to listen to and connect with our seniors. Our team extends a special thank you to AHCA/NCAL for organizing this important visit.
Congresswoman Stansbury’s visit reaffirmed the importance of continuing these conversations and working together to ensure seniors receive the care and support they deserve.
